There’s a lot going on when you’re shooting belt-test day at the local martial arts studio. You contend with the setting sun, uninspiring lighting, and you would think the moods of the kids. 
Well while the first two were true (and somewhat unexpected), the third was a pleasure. From the moment they come onto the mat, they are focused. They want that new belt.
From ages 3 through 13, they are focused, they are ready, and they are pumped. 
Punches. Kicks. Breaking boards. It’s impossible to capture it all. But it’s fun trying.
There was some technical inexperience we learned from with the portrait portion of the shoot. But that really only limited the quantity of photos, not the quality.
